Serti Silk Painting technique was developed in France by graphic designers in the 1920's, to make faster the Batik technique. The silk is stretched across a frame and involved by fine line application of "gutta" which acts as blocker of dyes that are spread by brushes.Subsequent layers of dyes are applied until the desired results are achieved by the Artist.
One of the features about silk painting is the purity and intensity of color that can be achieved only using this technique.
